Resurrecting Religion: Finding Our Way Back to the Good News by Greg Paul
From Goodreads:
There’s a lot of bad religion out there. But the answer isn’t no religion, it’s true religion: living out “publicly and communally” what we say we believe privately and individually. True religion puts flesh on the bones of faith. Resurrecting Religion offers an inspiring, stretching vision for finding our way back to the good news of our faith.
At a time when most people practice their faith in the extremes either extremely publicly, with a legalistic, combative tone that creates division, or extremely privately, to the point that our faith becomes functionally irrelevant award-winning author Greg Paul offers a vision for religion that is good for us and good for the world.

Review:
Greg Paul is a pastor and founder of a Toronto church which welcomes all kinds of people, from the very poor to the very wealthy and the homeless and disadvantaged. Greg Paul is an accomplished writer and has written a number of other books. He is married with four children.
Resurrecting Religion is the first book by this author that I have read. It is a very powerful and thought provoking book. It is easy to read and understand and the reader is left with a guide of sorts as to how to get our Church communities back on track and do what God commissioned us to do, taking God’s message out to the world and not hanging on to it for our own purposes. Paul’s suggestions are realistic and sound relatively easy to implement. They will require commitment and effort but for today’s world that’s not surprising as people are becoming more discerning about what attracts them or not to a worshipping community. Highly recommend.
