Review
David Walliams is a new to me author. Even though he has written a lot of other books I’m a bit late to the party regarding his books. I’m impressed with his writing style and story line. This book was a sweet, easy, quick, and fun read.
It’s set in the year 2120 at Buckingham Palace where there is a takeover of the King and his throne by a couple of the staff of the palace. The King’s son who is both sickly, and never been outside the palace, but the future of Britain appears to be dependent on him for its rescue.
Throughout the book we have British history weaved within the story. There is even a side remark made about Donald Trump which helps the reader connect with the story from a current affairs aspect whilst being caged in a children’s story.
I couldn’t wait to pick this book up, and it really moved fast. Well worth the purchase.
