Review
As far as children’s books go this is a really lovely, fun, and sweet story. It’s a story told from the viewpoint of a man telling his grandchildren about a beautiful Great Dane dog who adopted a navy base as his friend and companion. He became the responsibility of the granddad of the story who talks about the many adventures that he has throughout his life including those where Joyful Trouble would get himself into trouble (hence his name).
The writing and description of Furstenberg is delightful to read. It’s a story that can be read by children or read to children. I know a young child who loves dogs and she would really love this book. Adults can also read it and enjoy the story and adventures within. To find out what happens to Joyful Trouble you will have to find out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
Recommend for: Adults and children alike.
