The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
From Goodreads:
A much-loved classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has won over millions of readers with its vivid and colourful collage illustrations and its deceptively simply, hopeful story. With its die-cut pages and finger-sized holes to explore, this is a richly satisfying book for children.
Eric Carle is an internationally bestselling and award-winning author and illustrator of books for very young children. Eric lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Barbara. The Carles opened The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Massachusetts in 2002.

Review:
This book has always been a favourite of mine right from when I first read it as a primary school student many, many years ago. Now that I am an adult it still holds my interest as firmly as it did all those years ago.
This book is full of bright and colourful pictures that includes a hands on approach in the form of holes in each of the food items that the caterpillar ate. This book is a great tool for teaching the days of the week, counting, recognising different foods, shapes and the concept of metamorphosis. Above all, this is a really fun book to read at absolutely any age. I canβt recommend this book highly enough.
